The 60 - 90 minute Lymphatic drainage massage will stimulate the lymph system by using extremely light, circular pumping movements. This will help drain puffy, swollen tissues, support the body's immune system, help the body heal from surgery, and can help with the body's natural waste removal and detoxification. The 10-15 minute steam after the massage will help to sweat out the toxins, helping the detox process happen faster.

How does the steamy wonder work?

The Steamy Wonder is a canopy that goes over the massage table and fills with steam. When it is time for the steam the massage therapist will fill a steam pot up with water and your choice of essential oils or herbs. Then the MT will leave the room to have you get undressed, (the steam will make your body produce a lot of moisture, you can get undressed to your comfort level, but whatever you wear inside the Steamy Wonder will get wet, so make sure you bring an extra change of clothes if you choose not to get fully undressed.) You will cover yourself with the sheet or towel provided by the MT.  When the MT returns to the room they will lower the canopy onto the table, and you’ll pass them out the sheet. You can choose to leave your head in the canopy for a bit or leave it out.  Then sit back and enjoy your steam!

What do I need to bring with me?

  • You will need to bring lots of water. You will want to drink plenty of water before and after the steam. At least a bottle before and after.
  • Extra clothes, if you decide to wear anything in the steam. ( whatever you wear will get wet)

What if it starts to get too hot while I’m in the steam?

The massage therapist will be in the room the majority of the time, if they leave the room they will leave you a bell if you start to get too hot or uncomfortable just ring the bell and they’ll come back in. There are a number of things they can do if it starts to get too hot for you.
  1. Put the temperature gauge down a bit
  2. Put a cold towel of your head and pass one to you inside the canopy to put on your chest
  3. Add some cooler water to the pot to cool down the temperature
  4. Lift the canopy up a little to get some of the steam down
  5. If the above don’t work the MT will end the steam early and get you some water
