About Jessica Schwartz, LMT
Trained at the York Technical Institute in Mechanicsburg, PA, Jessica is a licensed massage therapist in both Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. She incorporates a variety of modalities into her practice including Swedish relaxation, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques (METs), cupping therapy, myofascial release, energy work, and aromatherapy.
Jessica approaches massage therapy with an emphasis on compassionate healing touch, intention, communication, and an understanding of anatomy and kinesiology. She tailors and individualizes each massage therapy session to the client’s particular needs at that given time through verbal consultation and physical assessment and strongly believes in the benefit of setting common goals with her patients to enhance overall health, well-being, and quality of life. Her aim with each patient varies, but commonly focuses on decreasing pain, alleviating stress and tension, promoting relaxation, and increasing functional capacity and range of motion. Her intention as a massage therapist is to support her patients in their healing journey in a clean, safe, compassionate, professional, and nonjudgmental environment.
Jessica deeply believes that a holistic approach to healing promotes the optimization of health and overall well-being and thus strives to take into account the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual facets that constitute each person. She holds the idea that our health and vitality are essential parts of life that must be consciously cultivated and maintained; knowledge, awareness, and self-care empowers us to be directly involved in our healing processes. She applies these principles to her practice.
In addition to having studied massage therapy, Jessica is also a current student at the New England School of Acupuncture, earning her Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine. She is studying both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Delaware with a major in Exercise Science and a minor in Spanish.
Jessica is a lover of nature and all living things with a passion for learning and traveling. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, skiing, hiking, and spending time with her fur-babies. In all aspects of her life, Jessica strives to cultivate joy, love, and compassion.
